Housing & Commercial Development

59th Street

The current conditions in the 20th Ward are huge vacant tracks of land where working families once lived. My vision is new residential housing through public and/or private partnerships.  Visit City of Chicago Department of Planning & Development for a new  home-buying pilot program that will provide purchase price assistance to buyers in 6 targeted areas, 2 of which are in the 20th Ward.(https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/doh/provdrs/housing_resources/news/2018/september/mayor-emanuel-introduces-home-buying-pilot-program.html).

Presently an unutilized commercial property, my vision is job creation similar to the Method Soap manufacturing plant on Chicago's far southside (https://methodhome.com/beyond-the-bottle/soap-factory/).

48th & Halsted

As the next Alderman on the 20th Ward, I intend to attract this type of mixed-use development to our 20th Ward neighborhoods.
